Happy 41st Birthday!

NO! Not me! My darling husband! Yes that is right.. the big 4-1!  Sadly, we are in the process of possibly moving..so the fanfare was small. We picked out a few gag gifts for him.  Even he thought it was fun.

because 41 is the new 21! haha!

flashback to his teenage years... rad glasses!

the Bald Man's Comb! Kody thought it was a headband! haha!

Giving it a whirl... not bad..
although he still has some hair on the top!!
Next, he is always saying he wants another tattoo...or to touch up the one he has.. well.. problem solved.. and it is washable! haha!!

It is basically a decorated piece of nylon that slips onto your arm! Almost realistic looking!

All in all, a fun and simple birthday!

Summer ends...school starts..

at least for the kids! I have been trying to balance college and summer for nearly 3 months!  It has been bittersweet this last week.  Tuesday marked their first day back to school, and it was sad for me.

I guess the morning started out pretty typical... the kids tried to hide from school...

Even her Big Reading Pillow couldn't hide her!
Nor, could Peter-Leo's blanket, hide him.
Thankfully, all their silly tricks ended and they got dressed and eat breakfast.

Kody is by far our little drama queen/funny girl.
Here she is rolling her eyes because I told her she needed to eat.

Finally, all finished eating and ready to go to their first day of school!

Kody was very excited for her first day of kindergarten.

Thumbs up from Peter-Leo
Kody started kindergarten this year and Peter-Leo is at the top of the food chain.. as a big bad and all powerful 5th grader!

This is the sad part..at least for me.. the minute we hit the parking lot..I barely had the car stopped and Peter-Leo hops out to meet one of his friends. Off he goes.

Peter-Leo and his friend (just below the tree branches.) He was so cool.

This is the only photo of Peter-Leo I got.
A little more about that photo of Peter-Leo, I would like to say that he said something nice to me, but in reality it was something along the lines of "okay, mom stop. Just go already." sigh. (mother's heart is officially broken!)

Kody sitting at the table coloring a picture before school officially started for the day!
Kody was somewhat kinder and actually let me walk her to class, mostly because she didn't remember where to go!  Of course, you would think a child so young would be afraid or need the comfort of her mother on such a big first day of school... nope. Her words were "Mom, I will see you at the bike racks after school, geez."

With bittersweet tears, I put my camera away and waved good bye.. at least until 230pm when I would see them at the bike racks.
